The Strutherhill and Birkenshaw neighbourhood planning area has been allocated £27,000 from South Lanarkshire Council and the Lottery Communities Fund to support participatory budgeting activity. These funds will help deliver local priorities outlined in the Our Place Our Plan, neighbourhood plan. Community consultation has identified some ideas for investment  in 2023/2024 including play area improvements, more activities and opportunities for young  people, the development of community gardens, improvements to open space and a community HUB/cafe to bring residents together. Applications are welcomed that deliver on any of these themes.

The timetable for PB  is as follows 12th February -  Applications Open. 26th February - Applications Close. 1st of March - Voting Begins. 8th of March – Voting Closes.

Other things you need to know
·        We want to make the application process as easy as possible - groups can ask for assistance, to complete their proposal form or to cost  proposed activities  – please email me or Liz Armour liz@communitylinkssl.co.uk
·        Unconstituted groups can apply, we want to make the PB funding accessible, inclusive and open to all . We will find organisations to host  PB funds, enabling more community led activities to be delivered.
·        Voting will be online, but a series of POP Up’s will take place across your neighbourhood  to make sure as many people as possible get the chance to take part and have their say. If you would like a POP Up to take place – please email me or Liz Armour liz@communitylinkssl.co.uk
·        We will work with groups to identify alternative funding to help sustain activities.

More information will follow, in the meantime I have attached a short note explaining PB.

Please promote this fantastic opportunity among your contacts and networks.
